Welcome to the Website for the Rochester Returned Peace Corps Volunteers
Rochester RPCVs is the organization of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers living in the Rochester, New York area. It is an affiliate group of the National Peace Corps Association.
The group's activities have included:
Monthly dinners at ethnic restaurants — usually on the first Monday of the month. Communication about these Dinners is relayed by the Google Group (Rochesterrpcv)(Instructions to join Group Click here). The dinners frequently include a presentation by an RPCV (or two or three) about their country of service. If you are a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, we urge you to join us. Those interested in joining the Peace Corps — or are simply interested in the Peace Corps — are invited to join us as well.
Close coordination with the New York Peace Corps recruitment office to cosponsor events that bring together the best Peace Corps recruiters — RPCVs — with those interested in becoming Peace Corps Volunteers.
Volunteers from this group:
- have participated in Peace Corps Week presentations in schools Spoken to community groups and students from elementary to college-age
- Worked on Habitat For Humanity projects
- Volunteered at WXXI funddrive
- Have sold Peace Corps Calendars purchased from RPCV's of Wisconsin. The profits go to help fund PCP (Peace Corps Partnership Programs )
