- Monthly dinners at an ethnic restaurants usually on the first Monday of the month. The dinners frequently include a presentation by an RPCV (or two or three) about their country of service. If you are a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, we urge you to join us. Those interested in joining the Peace Corps or are simply interested in the Peace Corps are invited to join us as well.
- Fundraisers to support projects in developing countries.
- Collected holiday gifts for a family living in a Habitat for Humanity house. (2002)
- Close coordination with the New York Peace Corps recruitment office to cosponsor events that bring together the best Peace Corps recruiters RPCVs with those interested in becoming Peace Corps Volunteers.
- Service activities: Volunteers from the group have participated in Peace Corps Day presentations in schools, spoken to community groups and students from elementary- to college-age, and worked on Habitat for Humanity projects and a WXXI funddrive.
- To celebrate Peace Corps Day/Week
In March 2002, Rochester RPCVs presented a program for the public at the Rochester Public Library Bausch and Lomb Building entitled: "Living in a Moslem Country: Four RPCVs tell of their experiences in Iran, Morocco, Somalia and Turkey."
In March 2004 the group presented a show of more than 100 artifacts from Peace Corps countries at a gallery at Rochester Institute of Technology and presented a panel discussion about the Peace Corps experience.
In January 2005 the group presented a show of more than 80 artifacts from Peace Corps countries at a gallery at the University of Rochester and presented a panel discussion about the Peace Corps experience.
- Other activities: We've had the good fortune of having former PC Directors Mark Schneider and Mark Gearan speak in Rochester, and we organized events around their visits. We have also hosted speakers from the National Peace Corps Association, and local international organizations.
