2004
This year the group again raised funds by selling calendars to support two projects:
HIV Books for 200 Communities: A project of the RPCV Legacy Program of the Ethiopia & Eritrea RPCVs
Ethiopia & Eritrea RPCVs is partnering with the respected Hesperian Foundation, publisher of numerous healthcare manuals for remote communities around the world. The goal of the project is to enable Hesperian to respond to requests for their books from Ethiopian and Eritrean healthcare workers.
Because HIV and AIDS have become an incredible scourge in Ethiopia and to a lesser degree in Eritrea, donations to this project will also enable Hesperian to include with each requested book a copy of their book HIV Health and Your Community.
The Rochester Returned Peace Corps Volunteers donated $150 from its calendar sales and $150 from its treasury to support this project.
